The Rice Purity Test provided on this site is intended for entertainment and social bonding purposes only. It is a cultural tradition with roots in college orientation activities at Rice University. It is not designed to be, and should not be interpreted as:
- A psychological or personality assessment
- A diagnostic tool of any kind
- A measure of moral character or personal worth
- A scientific or clinically validated measurement
- An academic or professional evaluation
- A predictor of future behavior or outcomes
2. No Moral Judgment
A high score does not make a person morally superior, healthier, or more virtuous. A low score does not make a person bad, immoral, or dangerous. The test measures only the number of listed experiences a person has had — nothing more.
Scores are points on a spectrum of life experience, not rankings of human worth. Any use of scores to demean, coerce, or shame others is contrary to the spirit and purpose of the test.
3. No Affiliation with Rice University
This Site is an independent utility website and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Rice University, the Rice Thresher student newspaper, or any academic institution. The Rice Purity Test is a widely known public cultural tradition; this site is one of many independent online implementations of it.
4. Accuracy of Questions
Our question set is derived from the traditional 100-question Rice Purity Test as it has been publicly shared. Minor wording variations exist across different versions of the test on different websites. Our full methodology is documented on the Methodology page.
We make no claim that this is the "one true" or "official" version of the test — no single authoritative version exists online.
5. Sensitive Content Warning
The Rice Purity Test contains questions about sexual activity, substance use, and legal matters. These topics may be distressing or inappropriate for some users. We recommend:
- Users be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in their jurisdiction)
- Users who are distressed by the content skip questions or stop the test
- Users not pressure others to take the test or reveal their scores

Score ranges and labels (e.g., "Experienced," "Very Pure") used on this site are social conventions only, based on common interpretations within college culture. They are not standardized, clinically validated, or endorsed by any professional organization.
The same score can mean very different things depending on a person's age, background, culture, and life circumstances. We present interpretations as general reference points, not definitive classifications.
